Welcome to the first official Sport Compact Car and Modified Truck
club for both domestic and import design located on the East coast
of Canada here in Newfoundland and Labrador.
NFtunerz began it's conception in August 2002 with the collaboration
of devoted car enthusiast. Weekly or often daily meets at a local
Tim Horton's or McDonald's during the spring, summer and fall of
2002 and earlier would bring people together and it gave the opportunity
for newcomers to the car and truck scene to socialize with those
of a common interest. Nightly cruises are not uncommon, almost second
nature to some, but many were wanting more.
An executive of committed members was soon formed with no person
assuming total control. The role of the executive is to provide
central communications where ideas of events, meets or any idea(s)
can be discussed and acted upon; to help motivate, collaborate and
to offer assistance to any member with new ideas. Any member of
the club is free to offer assistance, bring new ideas to the table
and peruse them by his/herself if so desired. Any member of the
executive or member of the club can be assigned role of treasure
depending on the event or cause. Once again, the goal here is shared
involvement, input and to give everyone an equal say.
With politics aside, NFTunerz goal is to provied people with a
common interest a relaxed and enjoyable environment to socialize
and help one another. With official member status (details to be
released at a later date), a welcome package will be issued, discounts
at local parts and customizing shops will be granted through the
NFTunerz name and first hand news events and update will be provided
when available. This of course is only a piliminary agenda with
more to be added in the future.
The majority of our members reside in St. John's, the Capital of
the province, or surrounding communities in the Avalon Peninsula
part of the Island. While the forums provide an area to share ideas
and socialize when not out driving or socializing, NFTunerz is more
than a discussion board and online site as it provides an excellent
place to plan new events, help one another and to answer any questions
that people may have about the club.
